      At least four of the children in this family died very young or fairly young. What sorrow these parents had to endure.

      In the 1880 Federal Census, Josiah & Levina C. Remington, ages 45 & 44, are living on Fort Hill Street in Hingham, Plymouth Co., MA. They have five children in the household: Frank L. 16, Emma 14, Wm Robert 10, George S. 7, & Martha M. 4. Henry & Sophronia Harves are boarding with them.

      In the 1900 Federal Census, Josiah & Lavinia C. Remington, ages 66 & 59, are still living at Hingham. With them is married daughter Martha Danforth and her husband and three children.
