  There is an Amos Remington in the 1790 Federal Census at Suffield, Hartford Co., CT: 3 FWM<16, 1 FWM>16, 4 FWF. This implies that there were three sons and three daughters in the household. He may be the Amos Remington who married Julette Tower (both of Worthington, MA) on 23 Oct 1807 (in VRs of Cummington, MA). He may also be the Amos Remington (of Chesterfield, MA) who married Sally Pettingill (of Cummington, MA), int. filed at Cummington 11 Nov 1811. (source: "The Vital Records of Cummington, MA 1762-1900" by William W. Streeter & Daphne H. Morris, p. 148) According to a family tree at Rootsweb, Julette was born c 1783, which would make her the age to be Amos's daughter. Perhaps Amos had a son named Amos, Jr. (?).
