    • Boyd Scott Remington's ancestry chart shows William born at Salem, MA. However, the 1850 census gives his birthplace as VT, which seems more likely, since his family lived there in the 1800 census.

      In the 1850 Federal Census, William & Deborah are living at Wheatland, Monroe Co., NY, with their three children and William's mother, Betsey. They are near William's brother Silas and family.
