Two wills seem to be contradictory. In Susannah Ellery's will of 1828, she mentions her "niece Henrietta L. Ellery Channing, daughter of brother William." Does she mean Hannah Abigail Shaw (Ellery) Channing, mentioned in the will of William b. 1761? He doesn't mention a daughter Henrietta at all.
Possibly the names were misread in transcribing the wills. However, if Hannah and Harriett are the same individual, a daughter of William b.1761, she would hardly have been old enough to marry John Bours, Jr. before he died.
This Henrietta may have been married first to John Bours, and later to a Mr. Channing. What's confusing is that if Susannh really has a niece Henrietta, she is not mentioned in her father's will. The will does mentions another sister, Abigail, as having the surname Channing. (needs more research)
