    • Joseph's will, dated 1735, mentions his wife Martha; 6 sons -- Joseph (Jr.), William, Samuel (b. 6 Jan 1704, d. 1790), John, Robert, & Thomas; and 3 daughters -- Phebe (Pitcher), Hannah, & Martha.

      He may have married first to a Phebe Unknown.

      I have estimated the birth years of some of Joseph's children.

      Interestingly, there was another Joseph Hopkins whose will was proved/probated 1 Sept. 1740 at Scituate, RI. He also mentions a wife Martha.

      An online genealogy has his parents as William & Hannah (Andrews) Hopkins of Roxbury, MA. However, the RI Genealogical Register, Vol. 15, p. 303, identifies his parents as Thomas & Sarah. (needs more research)
