Notes

In the 1850 census she is Persis Remington, 15; in the 1860 census she is Persis W. Williams, 24. According to a posting on the Rootsweb Remington message board (22 Aug 2008), her middle name is Uretta. In the 1870 census, her name appears as Persis U. or V. Williams; in 1880 and 1900 she is listed as Perseus U. The 1880 census data says both of her parents were born in RI, but I don't think that is correct.
