  • Notes
    • In the 1880 Federal Census, Maria F. Condy is 84 and boarding with Harriet A. Aborn 77 who is "keeping house." The two widows are living at Providence, RI. I am making an assumption that these are two Remington sisters, since marriage records show that Harriet was d/o "Capt. Charles" and Maria was "d/o Charles."

This assumption has since been confirmed by several other sources.

Notes from the Mary E. Rice Collection, concerning Cranston Land Evidence, deed bk #1 pp. 584 & 585, dated 17 Oct 1825: Mary C. Remington, widow of Charles, deceased late of said Cranston, mariner, and William Henry Aborn of Providence, merchant, and his wife Harriot Angeline Aborn . . . " The content of this transaction concerned the release of all debts pertaining to the estate of Charles, also a release to Samuel Aborn Condy and wife Maria Frances. (Maria & Harriet were sisters.)
