- In the 1920 Federal Census, John F. Remington, age 3, is living with his grandparents, T. J. & Celesta Remington, at Winslow, Arkansas.
In 1930 he is age 13, living at Jeromesville, Ashland, OH, with Ray & Bernice Smith and family. Bernice (Remington) Smith is John's aunt.
Jack Remington has written the following memorial poem, placed in the Remington Pioneer Cemetery, Holmes Co., OH:
You who follow us in time
Spend moments here with these,
The early ones who dared.
Protect and guard this tiny shred of past,
And gently treat the land they shared.
