Notes - In the 1850 Federal Census, Levi is age 45, b. CT. He is living at Grand Blanc, Genesee Co., MI, with his wife "Sarah" and ten of their children. They are near John 40 & Julia A. Remington 36 and their three children. They are still there in 1860, when the family consists of: Levi, 54; Acinith, 45; Isaac, 18; Thomas, 17; William, 15; Peter, 13; Norman, 9; David, 2; Rachel, 24; & Lucy, 17; also widowed son Joseph, 26; and his two children, Cora, 4; & Levi, 2.
In 1870 the family is at Clayton, Genesee, MI: Levi, 64; Asenath, 54; Rachel, 34; Norman, 14; Peter, 22; Julia, 19 (assume Peter's wife?). They are next door to Sabestin, Laura, and their son Justin.
In the 1880 census, Levi is still at Clayton, Genesee Co., MI, age 74, b. CT, with wife "Asenith" age 64, b. NY. In the household is son Norman 24, his wife Emma 25, and their two children; also adult children Peter & Rachel.
Don Appleby's genealogy web site adds a son Franklin to these children. However, I don't think Franklin belongs in this family group, because he is in the 1880 census as age 11, a nephew listed in the household of Joseph & Amanda.
A Remington manuscript in the Special Collections at NE Hist Gen Soc includes a son Franklin.
Levi died at age 81 y 7 m 4 d.
