    • I have made an assumption that the Jane Remington who married Charles Watson is the Jane Remington in this family group. There are three reasons that support this assumption: her age in subsequent censuses agrees with her date of birth; she and Charles are living in Illinois, as are her parents; and she has a son named Philetus, which is also the name of one of her brothers.
