• Notes

  Mary's maiden name was given in RI Genealogical Register, Vol. 4, No. 2, p. 149, "A Line of Descent from Benjamin Congdon." However, I am not sure it is correct, as there was another couple named Henry & Mary (Kingsley) Northup in South Kingstown in the mid-1800s. Was someone confused? In another genealogy, her name is given as Mary Cary.
