• Notes

  In the 1851 census, William & Ann are living on Bancroft Lane with his mother Elizabeth. They have three children: Harriett, Frederic, and Charles. Several other Slack families are living on the same street. In the 1851 census, it appears that Ann is a widow age 62, living with her two sons. However, William is also there, age 62, a lodger.
