    • In the 1850 Federal Census, Elery & Hannah Manchester are living at Westport, Bristol Co., MA. Their ages are given as 61 & 53 (?); the census image is rather faint. They have 8 children in the household: Borden 28, Calvin 22, David L. 20, Mary E. 16, Emeline & Matilda 15, Abby M. 14, & Samuel B. 12. According to the census data, all were born in MA except Borden, who was born in RI.

      In 1860 they are still at Westport; their ages are given as 70 & 63. Adult children in the household are Calvin, Emeline, & Matilda; also, Mary A. Sanford, age 5, is there. They are next door to Abraham & Lydia Manchester; Abraham is probably Ellery's brother.

      In the 1870 Federal Census, Ellery is age 79 and Hannah is 73. They are still at Westport., MA.

      I have made an assumption that the death record at Westport of Ellery Manchester in 1871 is for this individual, although I have not yet viewed the original record.
