    • In the Federal Census of 1850, a Jeremiah Manchester age 47 RI (c1803) is a cook, living in Glocester, RI. He is listed as living with Elijah W. Presho or Presto (?).

      There has been some speculation that this Jeremiah could be my ancestor, the one who married Mary H. Dennis who later married Roderick Rounds. However, the names of Jeremiah's and Mary's children do not reflect this family. If he is the same Jeremiah, there must have been a divorce, and there would be a record of it at the Judicial Archives.

      Also, if this Jeremiah died in RI, there should be a death record for him at the RI State Archives.
