    • In the 1900 Federal Census, George and family are living on Morgan Ave. in Johnston, RI. Besides the two Whitford children, William E. & Mary A., also in the household is Bertha M. Kelly, age 12, b Oct 1887 (sister-in-law).

      In 1910 the family is living at Morgan Mills, Johnston, RI. George & Emma have five children: William E. 14, Mary A. 12, Leonard F. 9, Charles E. 7, & Ruth E. 3. They are next door to George's widowed brother-in-law, Leonard Kettel, and his daughter Bertha M.

      In 1920 George & Emma are still at Johnston. Six children are in the household, as well as George's widowed father Charles, age 78.
