    • George may have been handicapped or retarded in some way. He is single and living in Franklin, Delaware Co., NY, in the 1860 and 1870 censuses. Later he is listed among the residents of the Utica Asylum (1877) and Willard Asylum (1878 - 1885), as George (R. or B.) Remington of Franklin, NY. I have wondered if he might belong in Samuel's family, based on census data and family names; but he is placed in this family group in Lois Remington Smith's genealogy, so I am placing him here likewise.
