Notes - In the Federal Census of 1900, George R. Remington is age 20 (single, cigar salesman), living with his widowed mother and married sister Jennie at Independence, Montgomery Co., KS.
According to "History of Montgomery County, Kansas, By Its Own People," (L. Wallace Duncan, Iola, Kansas, 1903), pp 682-684, George died 18 Sep 1899. However, that must be incorrect, as he is listed in the 1900 census as living. Perhaps the year is off.
