- In the 1861 census, Ann Slack is listed as a a widow age 62, a framework knitter, living at 38 Bancroft Lane. With her are sons Frederick and Charles, ages 22 & 20. However, it appears that her husband William, also age 62, is there, listed as a lodger in the home. I think the census taker was confused and made a mistake.
