      It is said that he and his first wife were married for 52 years before she died. He had 12 known children.

      Banfield married second to a Miss or Mrs. Blackington (d 10 May 1735), and third to Mrs. Sarah (Pease) Daggett, widow of Deacon John Daggett of Attleboro, MA.
