Silas was buried on the 11th. Elder John Gorton preached at his funeral, on Amos 4:12. He was "Captain Silas Cooke, late of Warwick."

Silas was sometimes referred to as Silas, Jr. Does that simply mean he was a younger one of two in the area? It his father was Peleg, perhaps he had an uncle named Silas?

Silas married Sarah Crawford 28 Mar 1756. Sarah (daughter of Joseph Crawford and Susannah Bernon) was born 23 Sep 1734, Providence, RI; died 27 Jul 1826; was buried , Historical Cemetery 125, Warwick, RI. [Group Sheet]
