    Notes:

    In the 1880 Federal Census, this family is living on Broad St., District 50, in Providence, RI.

    William's family Bible is in the possession of one of his descendants, and copies of some of the family pages were given to me by Joyce (Remington) Gallup. On one page is written: "The Property of William R. Remington presented to him by his Mother Sarah Remington as a New Years gift Jan 1851." He would have been 23 years old.

    He may have been the William R. Remington who was a Justice of the Peace at Warwick. (source: Acts and Resolves of the General Assembly of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations Passed at the May Session, 1858)

    In the 1920 Federal Census, Arthur M. & Annie M. Remington, ages 54 & 37, are living at Warwick, RI. With them are boarders Lillian Shurtleff 22 RI, and Mary Remington 77 CT (widow).

    In the 1930 Federal Census, Arthur, Annie, and Norman are living on Lincoln Ave. in Warwick, RI.

    The 1880 Federal Census at "familysearch" does not identify her as the daughter of William & Ada, although she is living with them at Providence. The birth locations of her parents agree with theirs, however.

    Notes:

    From the Sun-Sentinel: Remington Remington, Norman, 82, passed away on June 1, 2003 in the arms of his beloved wife and daughter, Norman grew up in Warwick, RI. He proudly served in the US Navy during WW II. Upon his return from the military he met his beautiful wife Virginia, they were married for 56 years. Norman and Virginia moved to Ft. Lauderdale in 1958 and he was retired from the US Postal Service in 1985. Norman was a devoted Chicago Cubs fan who was quick with a joke, never offensive & always a gentleman. He will sadly be missed by all who knew him. Surviving Norman is his wife Virginia; daughter Nancy Remington Ryder, RN/BSN, BGMC, Emergency Dept; son in law Robert Ryder, Town of Davie Fire Dept; and granddaughter Virginia Kate Ryder, all of Ft. Lauderdale. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2003, at 10:00 AM at the Lauderdale Memorial Park Cemetery, 2001 SW 4 Avenue, Ft. Lauderdale, crypt side.
