    In the 1880 Federal Census, Peleg R. Remington is age 37 and single, living with his parents and sister in Cranston, RI.

    He may be the Peleg Remington, age 30, b RI, a lodger/clerk in store, living at San Francisco, CA, in the 1880 Federal Census. However, Peleg R. Remington, age 37, is listed with his parents in 1880, living at Cranston, RI; so, unless he had gone to CA and was counted/listed twice, the one in CA must be a different one (?). There are no other Peleg Remingtons listed in later censuses, that I could find.
