  1. 1.  Samuel Rice was born 1757, East Greenwich, RI.

    Notes:

    Samuel was a light-complected mariner, born in 1757 at East Greenwich, and 5' 4" tall, according to his own testimony. While serving on the ship "Satisfaction" in 1778, he was captured, along with Holden Rhodes, and put in Forten prison in England. He was released in a prisoner exchange on 11 Dec 1779. He also served as a seaman on the ship "South Carolina" during the Revolution.
