James's will is dated 9 June 1839, proved 9 Nov 1839 at Coventry. It mentions his wife Eunice and sons Horace, Oliver, and Reuben; also mentioned is Mary Andrews, wife fo George Andrews.

James married Eunice Case 6 Jun 1790. Eunice was born Abt 1769; died 22 Aug 1852. [Group Sheet]

The transcription of the birth record at newenglandancestors.org gives her name as Amey, and has the dob as 26 Apr 1778.

Notes:

Rosy was the first cousin of our ancestor Hiram Greene.

She was killed by her husband in a fit of insanity. Her grave is in East Greenwich Cemetery #72, off Division St. He is said to be buried in an unmarked grave in Coventry.

Rosy's gravestone was erected in 1857 by her daughter Abby W. G. (see cemetery database).

Apparently Hiram was married twice, but no marriage records for either marriage have been found.

According to Hiram's gravestone, he died in the 23rd year of his life.

In the 1850 Federal Census, Oliver 42, and Vincy 49, are living with five of their children at Meriden, New Haven Co., CT. In 1860 they are still there, with four children in the household.

In the 1880 Federal Census, Oliver & his wife Olive are at Meriden, New Haven CT. He is a farm laborer and she is keeping house.

From Kay Larsen, a descendant of Oliver & Vincy: "Oliver and his second wife, Almira, resided for a time in Branford, New Haven Co., CT, and he was still living there when he divorced Almira. At the time of the divorce, she was living in Meriden and apparently remained there until the end of her life. Oliver, at some point, returned to Meriden as he was living there when he married his third wife, Olive, and he shows up in the city directories until the time of his death."

In the 1870 Federal Census, D. C. Remington is age 51, a carpenter, at Williamsons Valley, Yavapai, AZ Territory.

In the 1880 Federal Census, Darius C. Remington is age 61, D, and a watchman, living at Signal, Mohave, AZ Territory.

Around 1894 or 1895 he was admitted to the western branch of the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers, which had opened in West Los Angeles, CA, in 1888. (for the history of this facility see: http://www.valaro.com/rohistory/ROHistory.htm)

In the Federal Census of 1850, Benjamin Green is age 22, living at Coventry, RI, with his mother Abigail Green 27, and Bradford R. Green 14.

He may be the Benjamin Greene aged 30 in the 1860 Federal Census, living at Coventry, married to Mary E. Greene 24 and with an infant daughter Lucy 1.

Is he Benjamin W. Greene 51 in 1880, living with Mary E. 50 in Providence, with two daughters? This needs more research.

Notes:

Amos Greene is mentioned as a grandson in the 1833 will of Job Whaley. I have made an assumption that he is a son of Job's daughter Esther, also mentioned in the will.
