    Notes:

    In 1891 Ann is a widow, still at 47 Union St., Mansfield. With her are children Alfred 22, Arthur 20, & Ellen 16. Also in the household is William Slack, 21, a lodger. Is this her son William?

    She is probably the Ann Slack, age 64, living with Arthur & Eliza Slack in the 1901 census. She is identified as Arthur's mother.

    Ann married William Slack Abt 1859. William (son of Gilbert SLACK and Ann MARSHALL) was born 1831, Mansfield, Nottingham, England; died Aft Apr 1881. [Group Sheet]

    In the 1871 census, John is age 11, living with his family at 1 Union St., Mansfield.

    In 1881 John is age 21 and married to Mary, also age 21. They are living at 9 Plantation Row, Mansfield.

    In 1891 John & Mary are age 30, living at 28 Union St., Mansfield. With them is Ethel Bostwick, age 6, niece, born Notts.

    In 1901 John & Mary are ages 41 & 40. They are living at 1 Caxton Terrace, Mansfield. With them are Ethel Bostock, age 16, niece born Notts; and Florrie Coleman, age 16, born Mansfield, Notts. Both Ethel & Florrie are shop assistants. Florrie is my great-aunt, sister of my Grandma Berry (nee Ellen Coleman).

    John married Mary Unknown Bef Apr 1881. Mary was born Abt 1860, Sedgley, Staffordshire, England; died Aft Apr 1901. [Group Sheet]
