    According to the 1880 Federal Census, Amanda's parents were born in CT. In 1900 the census data says her parents were born in VT/CT.

    In the 1900 Federal Census, Amanda Remington, a widow age 81 NY, is living at Boylston, Oswego Co., NY, with her grandson William Remington and his family. According to the census data, Amanda has had four children, of whom three are still living. Her parents were born in VT/CT.

    Amanda married Orsemus Remington Abt 1844, NY. Orsemus (son of Jonathan Remington and Dinah Hall) was born 10 Aug 1820, NY; died 1881, NY. [Group Sheet]

    In the 1870 Federal Census, Charles and his wife Lenora are living at Lorraine, NY, with his parents.

    In 1880 they are at Boylston, Oswego, NY. They have a ten-year-old son, Leon. With them are Lenora's parents. Charles's mother, Amanda, is also at Boylston, living with her grandson William Remington and family.

    In 1900 Charles & Lenore are still at Boylston.

    Charles married Lenora Livingston Bef 1 Jun 1870. Lenora (daughter of Corton Livingston and Jane Unknown) was born Abt 1844, NY; died Aft 1 Jun 1900. [Group Sheet]

    It appears that he married Mary before 1 Jun 1905. This information is posted on Glenn F. Thibault's family tree at Rootsweb's Worldconnect: New York Census, Boylston, Oswego Co., NY--1 Jun 1905, by Charles A. Fuller:

    Floyd Dyer--Son, 11 y.o. male, At school

    This same family tree at Rootsweb also has Mortimer marrying Lela and having a son named Everett in 1889. If correct, this must have been a prior marriage.

    In the Federal Census of 1910, Mort & Mary Remington, ages 45 & 42, are living at Boylston, Oswego Co., NY. With them are Lee & Floyd Dyer, stepsons. According to the census data, Mort & Mary have been married 7 years, and this is the second marriage for both of them.

    Mortimer married Mary Unknown Abt 1903. Mary was born Abt 1868; died Aft 15 Apr 1910. [Group Sheet]

    Notes:

    I am assuming he is the Willie Wells age 5 in the 1880 census with his grandparents at Lorraine, Jefferson Co., NY.

    In 1900 William Remington is age 26 and married. His grandmother Amanda Remington is living with his family at Boylston, Oswego Co., NY. I have made an assumption that his mother is Eva.

    I am also assuming that Willie Wells and William Remington are the same individual. As far as I know, Orsemus & Amanda had only one daughter. It could be that Willie was born to Eva before she was married, or that she was married only briefly.

    In the Federal Census of 1930, William J. & Mary A. Remington, ages 55 & 52, are living at Lorraine, Jefferson Co., NY. With them are Samuel E. 25 and Eva D. 22. Living nearby are Harold and George and their families.

    William married Mary Alzora Bargy Abt 1897. Mary was born May 1878, NY; died 29 Mar 1966, NY. [Group Sheet]
