    According to the marriage record, Gideon was age 36 when married to Sarah; it was his first marriage; he was born in Little Compton; and his parents are John & Sarah. The 1860 census says he was born in RI.

    According to the book "The Coggeshalls in America," Gideon was born in 1822. However, his gravestone says 1820.

    In the 1880 Federal Census, the family is living at New Bedford, except for son Frank, 22, who is living with his maternal grandmother Rosetta Remington and her daughter Rosetta, also in New Bedford.

    Gideon married Sarah Amanda Remington 19 Feb 1857, New Bedford, Bristol Co., MA. Sarah (daughter of Thomas Remington and Rosetta Slocum) was born 22 Sep 1832, NY; died 18 Feb 1889; was buried , Rural Cemetery, Dartmouth Rd., New Bedford, MA. [Group Sheet]

    In the Federal Census of 1900, Frank C. Hoxie is living at New Bedford, MA. Also in the household is his 10-year-old-daughter, Mirable; Frank's brother William, 32; and a servant named Maude Duboid, 30.

    In the Federal Census of 1910, Frank C. Hoxie is still living at New Bedford, and has a second wife, Maud. His daughter Mirabell is still living there.
