Notes:

The 1900 Federal Census gives Julius's date of birth as Feb 1862, but that must be incorrect, because in the 1860 Federal Census, Julius is already age 1, living with his parents at Chocolay, MI. It is possible that he died and another son was born and given the same name. However, since his wife was born in 1855 and they were married c1879 (oldest daughter born 1880), it seems more likely that he was actually born 1858-1859, and is the same individual listed in the 1860 census.

In 1900, the family is living on North Fifth Street, Ward 5, Marquette, Marquette Co., MI: Julius 38, Anna 40, William 15, Lillie 11, Jesse 8, & Virginia 5. A boarder is also in the household -- Arthur Lemieux, age 8.

In the Federal Census of 1910, Julius Remington is a widower age 52, boarding at Marquette, Marquette Co., MI. At least three of his children are living at Chocolay, MI.

In 1930, Julius Remington is an inmate at the Marquette County Infirmery.

His middle name as Edwin came from Familysearch.org (IGI). This site also shows his birthplace as Newberry, Luce Co., MI.

Julius married Anna Quarters 1 Jan 1883, Marquette, Marquette Co, MI. Anna (daughter of John Quarters and Annis Unknown) was born Abt Mar 1855, Ausable, Clinton Co., NY; died 5 Aug 1902, Marquette, Marquette Co., MI. [Group Sheet]

Notes:

In the 1910 Federal Census, William is age 25. He and sister Virginia, 14, are living at Hancock, Houghton Co., MI, with Fred & Cora Irene Beall and their three children. The census says they are brother-in-law and sister-in-law. Cora is really their half-sister. Census data says William is married and has been married for 3 years, but no wife is listed. (A family tree at Rootsweb's Worldconnect says William married Rose Guhlke in 1906 at Marquette, MI.)

In the 1920 census there is a William E. Remington age 34 MI living in WI, but I do not know if it is the same individual. In the 1930 census there is a William Remington at Marquette, MI, but still the age is off, so I do not know if it is the same William.

In the 1910 Federal Census, Lily is age 20, living at Chocolay, Marquette Co., MI, with married half-sister Eva King and her husband Clinton. Also there is brother Jesse, age 18.

Lillian married William Rossetter 8 May 1912, Marquette, Marquette Co, MI. William was born Abt 1888, MI; died Aft 1 Apr 1930. [Group Sheet]

In the Federal Census of 1910, Jesse Remington is age 18. He and his sister Lily, age 20, are living at Chocolay, Marquette Co., MI, with their married half-sister Eva King and her husband Clinton.

In the Federal Census of 1920, Jess is age 28, still living with his half-sister Eva and brother-in-law Clinton H. King at Chocolay, Marquette Co., MI. Jess and Clinton are both farm workers.
