In the Federal Census of 1900, Prudence Remington is age 54 and a widow, living at Hackberry, Labette Co., KS. Her three sons and their families are with her and/or next door.

Prudence married Dennis H. Remington Abt 1865. Dennis (son of Truman Remington and Jane Bell) was born Between 1831 and 1835, Rutland Co., VT; died Aug 1895, Chetopa, Labette Co., KS. [Group Sheet]

In the 1870 and 1880 censuses his name is given as Warren.

In the Federal Census of 1900, William and Barbara Remington are living at Hackberry, Labette Co., KS. They have two children, and apparently from the census data, had another child who died. With them or next door are Williams's two brothers and their families, as well as his mother Prudence Remington.

In 1910, the family is still at Hackberry. William & Barbara have six children, including apparently a set of twins.

In 1920, William is widowed and still living at Hackberry. There are four children in the household.

Warren married Barbara Thornbrugh Abt 1892. Barbara was born 15 Feb 1873, Indian Territory; died 22 Mar 1919, Chetopa, Labette Co., KS; was buried , Lake Creek Cemetery, Bartlett, Labette Co., KS. [Group Sheet]

In 1930, Blucher & Mamie, ages 60 & 53, are still living at Hackberry, KS. Five of their children are still with them.

Blucher married Mary "Mamie" H. Bell 18 Sep 1893, Flat Rock, OK. Mary was born 15 Mar 1877, Hampshire, IL; died Jun 1974, KS; was buried , Lake Creek Cemetery, Bartlett, Labette Co., KS. [Group Sheet]

From notes at FindaGrave.com: "Goldie May Remington was born June 21,1898 on the Remington Family Farm about 4 miles west of Chetopa, Labette County, Kansas, to Butler and Oma Mills Remington. She married Fred Rainwater. They had three children: Frank, Florence and Freyda Rainwater. Fred Rainwater died on October 15, 1954. She later married Mr. Laughery (first name unknown) and relocated to Kansas City, Clay County, Missouri. She died there in a nursing home on January 22, 1978. I only met Goldie once in 1956 or 1957 when we went to visit my great-grandmother, Oma Mills Remington. Goldie was the one taking care of her. She was a really nice person. She worked day and night to take care of my little Granny, who was very weak and couldn't remember much anymore. Goldie had just recently lost her husband and was faced with the loss of her own mother. Life wasn't easy on the farm. I collected eggs with Aunt Goldie and watched her go about her farming chores on top of the 24 hours a day care she gave to her mother. She introduced me to the storm celler, where they kept their home made soap and the various foods that were stored there. There was only an outhouse and one recently strung electrical wire for the refrigerator and a light, and absolutely no modern conveniences that I was used to. It was really a unique experience for someone from a fairly large city in California. Goldie lived to be 79 years, 7 months and 1 day. Goldie was buried in Lake Creek Cemetery, Bartlett, Labette County, Kansas, near the many other members of her family that had passed before her." (by Paula Smith)

From her obituary in the Nevada, Missouri Daily Mail: "Ruth was born and raised in rural Chetopa, Kan. She worked for Boeing Aircraft Company in Wichita, Kan., for 25 years. She retired in 1970, and moved to Nevada. Ruth worked as a volunteer at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada. She was member of the United Methodist Church, Senior Citizens, and the S.O.S. Club."
