In 1860 he appears to be Freeman Shearman 35 MA, working as a miner in Brandy City, Sierra, CA. His wife Harriet and son Freeman are living in Merritt, Yolo, CA.

In 1870 the family appears to be living in Lincoln, Sierra, CA: F. Sherman 47 MA Miner above G (?), H. N. Sherman 42 MA, W. W. Sherman 8 CA (male).

In 1880 they are in Brandy City, Sierra, CA: Freeman Sherman 57 MA, Harriet 52 MA, Freeman 33 MA, William W. CA. Both Freemans are mining.

Freeman married Harriet N. Hazard 12 Feb 1844, Dartmouth, Bristol Co., MA. Harriet (daughter of Henry Hazard and Betsey Unknown) was born Abt 1828, MA; died Aft 1 Jun 1880. [Group Sheet]
