    Notes:

    In the 1850 Federal Census, Amos & Clarissa B. Remmington, ages 42 & 34, are living at Jersey, Licking Co., OH. They have five children.

    In the 1860 Federal Census, Amos & Clorina, ages 53 & 45, are living at Jersey, Licking Co., OH. They have eight children in the household.

    In the 1870 Federal Census, Amos & Clarina are 63 & 55, living in Jersey, Licking Co., Ohio, with the following family members: Lucy 28, Mary 22, Austin 20, Howard 18, Charles 17, Lester 13, Florence 10, & Effie 6. They are near James & Betsey Remington. James & Amos are first cousins.

    In the 1880 Federal Census, Amos & "Clorina" are still at Jersey, Licking County, Ohio, near Joseph Remington -- probably his brother. It says his father was born in RI and his mother in NY. Amos is 72, Clorina 64, and with them are three daughters: Lusy, Florance, & Effie. Charley Clemons, age 10, is also in the household.

    At first, I thought George was a son of James & Sarah (Boyce) Remington, because he is buried near them. But according to Jane Hardin's genealogy, he is a son of Amos, James's brother.

    Notes:

    In the 1880 Federal Census, Howard & Martha are living at Wilson, Gentry Co., Missouri. In the household are their two children, Florence & Pritty, and Lester J. Remington, age 22, "hired." Is this another brother of Howard? At the present time I am making an assumption that he is. In the 1920 census, Lester has a daughter Florence, which indicates a possible family relationship.

    Howard married Martha Finders Abt 1876. Martha was born 20 Mar 1857, Marshalltown, Iowa; died 11 Oct 1942, Mountain View, CA; was buried , Santa Clara City Cemetery, Santa Clara, CA. [Group Sheet]

    I am making an assumption that C. W. Remington belongs in this family group, because he and his family are living next door to Amos & family in the 1880 Federal Census. He could be a son of Joseph, also nearby, but more likely of Amos.

    Jane Hardin's genealogy has him as a son of Amos, but has his middle name as Wilcox.

    In the 1880 Federal Census, Lester J. Remington is age 22, living with in Wilson, Gentry Co., Missouri, with Howard & Martha and their children. In 1920 Lester J. Remington is age 61, married to Mary age 49, and living with three children in the household in Maricopa, Arizona.
