Is this "Alice," as some researchers have transcribed her name, or is it Ases or Asa or Acie? Very possibly she was named for her father's mother, Abigail Acey/Acie. The original record at Jamestown says Ases (p. 1 of Jamestown Proprietors Records, Vol. I). It also says that she was the 4th daughter born to Stephen & "Penelaty."
