 #   Notes   Linked to
2351 His aunt named him Benjamin Weaver Wood Kettelle, but he later dropped one of the Ws. Kettelle, Benjamin Weaver (I07517)

2352 His birth is recorded at East Greenwich, but a note says he was born at Portsmouth. Sweet, James (I23147)

2353 His birth is recorded twice in the Town of Coventry record book of births. One time it has his middle name as Edward, but the other time it is Edwin (both times it says he was the 7th child; same date). Shippee, George Edward (I06970)

2354 His birth record appears to say 12 Sep 1905, but the year was changed to 1904, with 4 being written over the 5. The date of record is 8 Feb 1905. The birthplace is given as Goffstown.

At the time of his marriage to Olive Porter, Arthur at age 19 (actually 17) was a candy-maker and Olive at age 20 was an office girl. At the time of his marriage at age 22 to Elizabeth King, Arthur was a barber. The marriage record says it was his first marriage, but it wasn't.

According to Michael Edward Remington's genealogy, William A. Remington was married seven times. His wives were: Mary Bartlett, Nancy Unknown, Olive Porter, Elizabeth King, Pearl Agee, Shirley Hibbs, & Carol Unknown. I don't know if this is accurate; I have found the above two marriage records, one divorce record and his census records as below.

There is a divorce record for Mary J. Remington from William A. Remington, residence Manchester, NH, 1 Mar 1927 for reason of extreme cruelty. The marriage was 22 Aug 1924 at Boylston, MA. I am making an assumption that she was Mary Bartlett, as given in the marriage record of son William John Remington.

In the Federal Census of 1930, William Remington, age 23 NH, is living at Bridgeport, Fairfield Co., CT. He is married to Nancy, age 22 Scotland. With them are Jean 29 & Margaret 26 Lindsey, sisters-in-law, both born in Scotland.

In 1940 William & Nancy Remington, ages 35 and 31, are living in Bronx, New York. He was born NH, she in CT; he is a salesman.
Remington, William Arthur (I16181)

2355 His birth record at Bristol: "WARDALL James, of Uzal and Grace, June 30, 1684" Wardwell, James (I17198)

2356 His birth record at Scituate says he was born in NK.

Jonathan, deceased son, is mentioned in the 6 March 1784 will of Thomas Hill of Scituate. this will also mentions Jonathan's three sons -- Thomas, William, & Jonathan.
Hill, Jonathan (I11484)

2357 His birth record at Scituate says he was born in NK.

The names of Thomas's children were obtained from a list on the Hill Family Forum at Genealogy.com, posted by Gary Horlacher. I have roughly estimated their birth years. These names and dates need more research to confirm; however, the family seems to be well researched by the poster.

The following notes are from Rootsweb's Worldconnect, Phillip Pitzer's family tree (my editing):
Thomas Hill left Foster, RI, sometime around the year of 1782. He was listed in the tax roster of the town of Foster in the year of 1781 but no longer in the year 1787. Thomas and Susanna Hill are also listed on deeds in Scituate, RI, as follows:

Scituate Deeds, Vol. 6, p. 440, Christopher Cook and Thomas Hill Jr. of Scituate, Providence, Rhode Island, plantation yeoman for 180 pounds from Jacob Philips, deed 44 acres, 71 rods in that part of town called Weitquanoid bordering Peleg Richmand's property. Rebecca Cook and Susannah Hill, wives of the said Christopher Cook and Thomas Hill Jr. yield right of dowry. 19 Sep. 1778. Witnesses: Elisabeth Angell, Jeremiah Angell, Thomas Hill, and Nehe Angell.

[My note: Rebecca Cook is Thomas's sister.]

Scituate Deeds, Vol. 6, p. 522, Thomas Hill Jr. of Scituate, Providence, RI, plantation clothier, for 3000 pounds paid by John Hill of the same place, clothier, sold one moiety or quarter part of a certain farm with a quarter part of a fulling mill and quarter part of a gristmill which fulling mill and grist mill are on the farm where on my honored father Thomas Hill Esquire now lives. And Sussannah Hill, wife of Thomas Hill yields her right of dowry in the premises. 8 March 1780. Witnesses: Samuel Wilber and Jeremiah Angell.

In the land records of Foster, RI, are the following two deeds:
Vol. 2, p. 10 Thomas Hill Jr. of Foster, Plantation yeoman, sold 47 acres 117 rods to Peleg Round fo 228 pounds 15 shillings silver which he purchased from Nehemiah Angell. Witnesses: Nathan Young and John Westcot. 23 April 1782.

Vol. 2, p. 24 Thomas Hill Jr. of Foster Plantation yeoman, sold 30 acres in Foster to Jonah Young for 90 pounds. Witnesses: Nathan Young and John Westcot. 23 April 1782.

The 1790 census of Westfield, Washington County, NY, listed three Hill families: Thomas Hill, Daniel Hill and Henry Hill. Shortly after this, Westfield Township was reorganized and the township of Hartford was organized out of part of Westfield. Thomas moved from Hartford, Washington County, NY, to Rutland, Jefferson County, NY, sometime around the year 1800. Land records in Washington County indicate that Thomas Hill and his wife Susannah sold 119 acres of land in Hartford for $250 to a Daniel Mason in October of 1798.

In the book "History of Jefferson Country in the State of New York" by Franklin B. Hough (1854) it states that an Asher Miller became an agent to sell new land in Rutland Township beginning in 1799. Some of the first people to to purchase land in this area were : Peter Cook, 92 acres in 1800; Jonathan Hill and Frederick Tyler 146 acres in 1800; Thomas Hill, 112 acres in 1801 and Charles Hill 120 acres in a year not specified.

In the 1800 census for Oneida County, NY, Thomas Hill is listed as over 45 and his wife as over 45 and having six children all under the age of 26. This area of Oneida County later became Rutland, Jefferson County, NY, 1805.

In the 1810 Jefferson County, NY, census for the township of Rutland, on p 35 there is a listing for a Thomas Hill and a Thomas Hill, Jr. living next to each other. The next household appears to be a Boudige Warner. In the Thomas Hill, Jr. household the 3rd and 8th column each had a one marked in them.

In the 1820 Jefferson County, NY, census in Rutland Township on Roll 72, Book 1 and page 254, Thomas is listed with 2 males 16-26 years of age and one greater than 45 years old. There is one female greater than 45 years old and 3 slaves.

In the book "The Story of Hartford: A History" by Mrs. Isabella Brayton (1929) it lists the following information about Thomas Hill and his family:
Thomas Hill married Susan Cook, daughter of the famous navigator. Daughters of Thomas Hill married respectfully Laban and Wanton Bump. There were three brothers, Laban, Wanton and Stephen Bump who settled in town. Laban married a daughter of Thomas Hill, first settled south of East Hartford on the Belcher Road. Wanton, b 1769, married a daughter of Thomas Hill, settled above East Hartford on the North Hebron Road.

Thomas moved back to Washington County and was buried in the Old Hartford Cemetery, Washington County, NY.

My notes:

This other marriage also seems to fit this particular Thomas, but the above Scituate records show his wife to be Susannah, so this must be another individual of the same name: Hill Thomas, of North Kingstown, son of Thomas, dec., and Elizabeth Vaughn, of West Greenwich, dau. of George; m. by Jonathan Niles, Justice, Nov. 2. 1784; Town Page Detail: Marriage (Vol. 2 : Pg. 206), West Greenwich, RI.

Hill, Thomas (I17875)

2358 His birth record at Scituate says he was born in NK. Hill, John (I25336)

2359 His birth record at Scituate says he was born in NK. Hill, Benjamin (I11485)

2360 His birth record is on the same page as his parents' marriage record at West Greenwich Town Hall. Also, see his will dated 6 Aug 1846, proved 18 Oct 1846. He was buried in the Caleb Whitford Lot, Burnt Saw Mill Road, West Greenwich, RI. I have tried to get to this cemetery, but as yet have not been successful. Whitford, Caleb Bailey (I01252)

2361 His birth record says William, son of William Jr. Denison, William (I27694)

2362 His date of birth is difficult to read in the family Bible.

In the 1860 Federal Census, this family is living at Knightsville, Cranston, Providence, Co., RI. They are next door to George & Almira Nottage, so I am assuming John is their son.

Records show that John & Rebecca had a son stillborn 29 June 1863 at Cranston (familysearch.org).

In 1870 John & Rebecca have moved to Providence, RI, in the 9th Ward, as have also George & Almira.

In the RI State Census of 1885, John S. Nottage age 60 is in East Providence.

The following exceprt is from "The Seventh Regiment of RI Volunteers in the Civil War, 1862 - 1865" by William P. Hopkins, Snow & Farmham Printers, Providence, RI, 1903; p 405 [http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~rigenweb/article57.html]

JOHN S. NOTTAGE. Sergeant John Sterry Nottage was born in Norwich, Conn., July 9, 1826. He had two brothers and one or more sisters. His father was a tin and sheet iron worker and dealer in stoves. When two years of age or thereabouts, the family moved to Providence. Soon he was sent to a private school presided over by a Mrs. Hodges, and her daughter, Julia. Later he attended the public school on Summer Street, Mr. Weston teacher. When entering upon manhood he learned the carpenter's trade, but at length ventured on a three years' whaling voyage. While thus absent his mother died, which was ever a source of grief. He was wounded in the head at Spottsylvania May 13, 1864, and was sent to Portsmouth Grove Hospital, where he was retained as at attendant upon his invalid comrades until his discharge. His wife was an invalid for many years, and he was caring for her when his younger brother, Charles H. Nottage, who had been commissary sergeant of the Fourth Rhode Island, died about 1896. He had obtained little rest day or night for thirteen weeks, and his constitution became overtaxed. In May of that year he had two paralytic shocks that rendered him unconscious, and deprived him of the power of speech. It was, indeed, barely possible to swallow food. At last the third and fatal shock supervened.
Nottage, John Sterry (I13069)

2363 His date of birth is noted as "26 10m 1663." Since March was the first month of the year then, I interpret this to mean December. Some online genealogies have his birth date as 6 Oct 1663, but this is probably incorrect.

The date of Jonathan's death, as well as this list of his children, came from the Rootsweb database of Debora Heath: jlheath@netzero.net
Remington, Reverend Jonathan I (I02859)

2364 His dates in the RI Cemetery Database are: c.1785 - 25 Dec 1831.

He is listed on the Register of Seaman's Protection Certificates from Providence, RI, district, dated 9 Aug 1800; he is described as age 19, light complextion, born in Johnston.
Remington, John (I08844)

2365 His death certificate gives his surname as Snyder. Schneider, Francis (I19574)

2366 His death record at Bristol: "WORDALL Uzal, 93y., Oct. 25, 1732"

The will of Uzal Wardwell, administered 7 Dec 1732 at Bristol, RI, mentions his wife Grace and five sons: Joseph, Uzal, James, William, & Benjamin. No daughters are mentioned, although it is known that he had daughters.

I am not sure which of his children were born of his second wife, although I am fairly sure that Sarah was Grace's daughter because she and her husband are named as executors in Grace's will. Also, I have found James in the Bristol birth records, as a son of Uzal & Grace.

The surname is spelled variously as Wardwell, Wordwell, Wordall, Wordell, & Wardel.

Uzal came from Ipswich, MA, and settled in Bristol, RI, where it is said he was an innkeeper.
WARDWELL, Uzal (I09287)

2367 His death was due to drowning. Cook, Reuben (I09870)

2368 His death was reported in the North Star Newspaper of Danville, VT, 17 Aug 1830. Remington, Zadock Jr. (I08188)

2369 His draft registration of 1917-1918 says at age 21 he is single, an organist at the Strand Theater in Germantown, Philadelphia.

In the Federal Census of 1940, the family is living in Cape May, NJ: Wm H. Andrews 44 PA, Marie 29 MD, Dorothy 4 NJ. William's sister Florida Kates and family are living nearby, and their mother Emma Andrews.
Andrews, William Hugo (I00388)

2370 His family's name was variously spelled as Hade, Haden, or Hayden. Hade, John (I03792)

2371 His first wife was Eunice.

The names of Johnson's parents were obtained from an online family tree; they need to be confirmed in the RI Death Index.
Colvin, Johnson Battey (I10968)

2372 His grave is in Providence Historical Cemetery #1, North Burial Ground. His gravestone has been photographed. Also engraved on this stone are his wife and son, and Louisa P. Remington -- probably his cousin, daughter of his mother's brother John. I have made an assumption that Ambrose's middle initial "N" stands for Nichols, because his paternal grandmother was Sarah Nichols. His grandmother Sarah (Nichols) Whitford had a brother Ambrose Nichols who mentioned, by name, Ambrose N. Whitford in his will of 1874.

The 1860 Census shows Ambrose N. Whitford, age 39, living in Kent County with Matilda Whitford, age 41, and George N. Whitford, age 7. For some reason, Albert D. Remington is also living in the household (along with a couple of other individuals). He may be the same Albert D. Remington who married Carrie Knight c.1861 (although the ages are different). This Albert is the brother of Louisa P. Remington, whose name is on the gravestone referred to above, and would likewise be a first cousin to Ambrose.
Whitford, Ambrose Nichols (I04421)

2373 His gravestone has been photographed. Kettelle, John Bradford (I05007)

2374 His gravestone has his given name as Alford. In other records it is Alfred or Alpra or some other variation. A grandson has the name Alford, so I think that may be his correct name. However, the birth record says Alfred.

He died at age 83y 8 m 4 d.

Details on all or most of Alfred's children can be seen at findagrave.com. The birth records of Alfred & Rachel's children are all at Tiverton.
Rounds, Alford Alfred (I28754)

2375 His gravestone has his name as "Nicolaj Nicolajsen." The parish birth record spells it Nicolai Nicolaisen. Nicolajsen, Nicolaj (I00798)

2376 His gravestone identifies him as Rev. Paul Harrington. He was an elder in the Mapleroot Baptist Church.

Paul's first wife was Hepsibah Watson.
Harrington, Elder Paul (I04393)

2377 His gravestone in Historical Cemetery #21 on Weaver Hill Rd. has been photographed. It reads: "In memory of Mr. Levi Whitford, son of Mr. Ezekiel and Sarah Whitford, who died Jan 22, 1843 aged 44 yrs 6 mos & 25 days." There is a poem at the bottom which has not yet been deciphered. Whitford, Levi (I01955)

2378 His gravestone in Historical Cemetery #27, off Burnt Sawmill Rd., West Greenwich, has been photographed. It is posted on the family tree at our web site.

William and his sister Mary both married children of Jacob & Hannah Lewis.

A note in the family Bible has his date of death as 14 Sep 1883. It says he died at age 87 years 3 months 25 days, and that he was born May 20th.

In the 1850 Federal Census, William B. & Ollive Whitford, ages 54 & 52, are living at West Greenwich. Their son William H. is 12.
Whitford, William Bailey (I01876)

2379 His gravestone inscription includes the following poem:
"So sleep the saints & cease to groan
When sin and death have done their worst
Christ hath a glory like his own
Which wants to clothe their sleeping dust"
Fletcher, Captain William (I08051)

2380 His gravestone reads: "4th gen, Fones Greene, son of Capt. James Greene, died July 29, 1758, aged 67 years." This would make his birth year c1691.

Fones Greene married first to Dinah Battey, who drowned a few days after their marriage in 1711. She was sailing across the Bay from Newport to Jamestown.

Fones's uncle Samuel Fones married Ann Tibbetts, aunt of his second wife Rebecca.

For a brief bio, see "Representative Men and Old Families of Southeastern Massachusetts" by J.H. Beers & Co, p 1304.

Fones resided in the house which he inherited, built by his father c1687, in the Buttonwoods/Nausauket area of Warwick, RI, bordering on Greenwich Bay. A second house was built in its place in 1715, and is still standing today, in 2008. A large part of the Greene estate was sold in 1868 to the Buttonwoods Association, which developed the area with homes and a campground on the shore.
Greene, Fones (I02512)

2381 His gravestone says he died 15 June 1841. Aborn, Joseph (I07798)

2382 His middle initial is N in his marriage record. Sprague, Eldridge C. (I21123)

2383 His middle initial may be F or R. Remington, Wayne F. (I22640)

2384 His middle initial may be M in the census record. Remington, Earnest W. (I11992)

2385 His middle initial may have been "G." Remington, Thomas Gilbert (I05385)

2386 His middle initial may have been T. It is unclear on the census. Remington, John F. (I11804)

2387 His middle initials probably signified "Martin Cornell." Briggs, Joseph M. C. (I06248)

2388 His middle name may have been Elmer or Elmore.

Virgilius Remington is in the 1830 census at Fowler, Trumbull Co., Ohio.

Virgilious was the sheriff of Carthage, Illinois, during the time when Mormons Joseph Smith and his brother were killed. Later, Virgil went to California during the 1849 Gold Rush. Perhaps that is why he is not at home in Illinois in the 1850 Federal Census.

In 1850 he is living at Kelsey, Eldorado Co., CA. He is listed as age 48, b MA.

From Don Schmidt: "I have corresponded with two distant Remington cousins from Canada who are descended from Virgilius Remington. They had a copy of a life story written by one of Virgilius Remington
Remington, Virgilious (I06509)

2389 HIs middle name may have been William or Wilbour.

In the 1850 Federal Census, Charles is listed as Charles C. Whitford, age 8. He is living at West Greenwich with his brother James and widowed father William, in the household with his (assumed) grandmother Sarah (Nichols) Whitford. Also there are Sarah M. Gorton 7, Abby Matteson 52, Sheffield R. Remington 37,and Mary Green 70. Abby Matteson was a midwife.

He may be the Charles Whitford, age 19, farm laborer, in the 1860 Federal Census, living at Cranston with Silas & Freelove M. Rider, 66 & 52, and Betsey Brayton, 70.

I believe Charles C. is really Charles W. because in the 1870 Federal Census, Charles W. & Mary A. Whitford, ages 27 & 20, have a woman named Abbie Matteson, 71, living with them in West Greenwich. She appears to be the same woman (the midwife) living in the Whitford household in 1850. In 1870 Charles & Mary have a daughter named Annie G. or J. age 3.

In 1880 Charles W. & Mary A. Whitford, ages 35 & 30, are living at Warwick, RI. They have five children: Angenett 13, Abby E. 9, George E. 6, Maryetta 5, & William H. 1.

In 1900 Charles & Mary Ann, ages 55 & 50, are living at Johnston, RI. According to the census data, they have been married 34 years. The census gives Charles's birthdate as Sep 1844, which may or may not be correct. Their son William, age 21, is with them.

In the 1920 Federal Census, Charles Whitford is age 78, widowed, and living at Johnston, RI, with his son George and family.

Charles & Mary Ann are the ancestors of Ray Whitford who in recent years has cleaned up the Whitford Cemetery on Weaver Hill Road next to the old Whitford farm.
Whitford, Charles W. (I14398)

2390 His middle name was probably Remington. He may have married his stepsister or other relative of his stepmother, Maria Fuller. His family, including wife, daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter, are at New Bedford in the 1880 Federal Census. Peirce, Thomas R. (I05734)

2391 His name appears with different spellings in various censuses and records. In the probate records for his father Nathan, the name is Hurley H. Hopkins. Censuses have it as Hurland, Hurlon, and Hurley.

At the writing of his father's will, 12 Feb 1887, Hurley was residing in Brutus.
Hopkins, Hurlon Hurley H. (I29389)

2392 His name has been given as Joshua in some genealogies. His name as written as Josiah in the 1880 & 1900 censuses.

At least four of the children in this family died very young or fairly young. What sorrow these parents had to endure.

In the 1880 Federal Census, Josiah & Levina C. Remington, ages 45 & 44, are living on Fort Hill Street in Hingham, Plymouth Co., MA. They have five children in the household: Frank L. 16, Emma 14, Wm Robert 10, George S. 7, & Martha M. 4. Henry & Sophronia Harves are boarding with them.

In the 1900 Federal Census, Josiah & Lavinia C. Remington, ages 66 & 59, are still living at Hingham. With them is married daughter Martha Danforth and her husband and three children.
Remington, Josiah Stodder (I07932)

2393 His name in unclear in the 1860 census -- it looks like Erwin. A family tree at Rootsweb has his name as Irving. However, an online gravestone transcription says Erving.

In the 1900 Federal Census, the family is living at Eastern, Knox Co., NE. The household consists of: Erving Remington 52, his wife Della 38, Henry 18, Frank 16, Delbert 13, Martin or Merton 12, Mary 10, Erving 8, Earl 5, & Wm. McKinley 4/12. This census gives the month and year of birth for all individuals. According to census data, Irving & Della have been married 20 years; Della has had 11 children, of whom 9 are still living. Eight are listed in the census. Where is the other living child?

His gravestone says he was born at Yorktown, PA.
Remington, Erving Otto (I17606)

2394 His name is given as Simon Kettle in the marriage record of his son, Samuel S., at South Kingstown. However, there is a Simeon Kettelle who married a Susan (Unknown), and had a son Samuel S. b. 1817 at Exeter. Very possibly Simeon is actually this Simon, as the dates seem to fit the correct time frame.

To complicate this, there was also a Seneca & Susan Kettelle who had a son named Samuel born in 1816 at West Greenwich.

The RI Cemetery Database shows a Susan Kittle 1792-17 Dec 1874 buried in WG 103. This is the Seneca Kittle Lot on Burnt Sawmill Rd. I need to research these individuals.

It appears that Simon/Simeon & Susan Kettelle, and Seneca & Susan Kettelle, were two couples living at the same time in the same general area, and both had sons named Samuel born about a year apart. (needs more research)
Kettelle, Simon (I05545)

2395 His name is in the 1850 Federal Census as Floyd. However, the gravestone says Lloyd.

In 1850 and 1860, the family is living at Onondaga, Manlius, NY, near two other Remington families: Hiram's and Arnold's.

President of Manlius Village: Lloyd Remington, 1849-51.
Remington, Lloyd (I08804)

2396 His name is often spelled Jeremy. Jeremiah and Frances came to America about 1638 and settled at Newport, RI.

He signed the Portsmouth Compact in 1639.

Jeremy, one of the original settlers of Newport, RI, is a direct descendant of King Edward I of England and his wife Eleanor of Castile, through their daughter Joan Plantagenet, who died in 1307.

Jeremy Clarke, son of Mary Weston, was a nephew of Sir Richard Weston, Earl of Portland and Lord Treasurer of England.

Jeremy was a captain (according to his wife's tombstone inscription), in 1648 was President Regent of Aquidneck Island, and held other public offices. His death in 1651 was later recorded in the Quaker records.

His son Walter Clarke later became Governor of RI, and was one of the original proprietors of the Monmouth Patent, NJ.
CLARKE, Captain Jeremy (I02144)

2397 His name is sometimes given as Amaziah. Most sources show Amariah Force or Amariah Vose. There were several men of this same name in MA around the same time.

About the brother listed here: I don't know for sure that this particular Jeremiah is Amariah's brother, or even that he had a brother Jeremiah. This needs more research to confirm. I am placing them together as a working model, based on several pieces of evidence. Amariah supposedly came to RI from Wrentham, MA; Jeremiah enlisted in the Rev War at Wrentham. They both eventually settled in northern RI. The surname of both morphed from Force to Vose. Their birth years are close. One published book says Amariah had two brothers -- Jeremiah & Hezekiah (but no source given). Lastly, an online tree shows them as brothers (but no source given).

I have one theory that their parents may have been Jeremiah Force and Margret Blake, who were married at Wrentham, MA, 8 Dec 1762. It is the correct time frame, location, and names (Amariah had a daughter named Margaret). However, this family needs more research.

For information on this family, see "History of Providence County, RI" ed by Richard M. Bayles, 1891 WW Preston & Co., NY, vol 2 p 476.

According to this book, the Vose family came from Wrentham, MA, to Woonsocket, RI. Amariah's chidlren were as follows: Alva, Alanson, Willing, Eliza Ann, Aaron, Melissa, and Margaret. Details on some of this children follow in this book.

In the Federal Census of 1790, Amariah Force and family are at Holliston, MA. However, this may be a different individual. One Amariah force was a Revolutionary War pensioner, and he may be the one at Holliston in 1790.

Another Amariah Vose, Rev War pensioner, died at Boston, MA, in 1831. His wife, Jane (md 1781 Boston), later lived in Manville, RI, with married daughter Mary "Polly" Eddy.

In the Federal Census of 1800, Amariah Force and family are at Bellingham, MA.

I have estimated the birth years of some of Amariah's children.

VOSE AMARIAH 1768 - 29 AUG 1846 WO #010
Vose, Amariah (I26149)

2398 His name is sometimes shown as Tristan in genealogies. A genealogy at Rootsweb says he is s/o Thomas Burman and Hannah Annabel.

The estate of Tristram Bowerman, of Bristol, Shipwright, dec., division of estate 21 Apr 1714; mentions widow Joan; sons Samuel eldest, John, & Jonathan; daughters Hannah, Mary Monroe (w/o Joseph Monroe), Mehittabel Steward (w/o Daniel Steward), Anne, & Sarah.

Inventory of estate of Tristram Bowerman of Bristol, dtd. 9 March 1712/3 presented by Mrs. Joan Bowerman, his widow, & by Samuel Bowerman, eldest son; Appraisers Peter Reynolds & William Throope [Br 3:120/1/2].
BOWERMAN, Tristram (I20559)

2399 His name is sometimes spelled Barnet or Barnett. Hill, Barnard (I27243)

2400 His name is sometimes written as Arannah or Aaron in the census records at Onondaga and Allegany Counties, NY.

The 1820 Federal Census at Marcellus, Onondaga Co., NY lists the following Wightmans: Allen & Arannah. It appears that Allen is age 26 - 45 yrs, and Arannah is 45+.

The 1830 Federal Census at Bolivar, Allegany Co., NY, lists the following Wightmans: Simon, Aaron, E.H.

The 1840 Federal Census at Wirt, Allegany Co., NY, list the following Wightmans: A., E.H., S., & L.
Wightman, Aurunah (I23424)
