| In the 1870 Federal Census, Frank & Clara A. Robinson, ages 53 & 50, are living at Jefferson, Lincoln Co., ME. There are eight of their children (presumed) in the household: Rosco 24, Ela J. 22 (female), Laura A. 20, Lillian (Lileon) 17, Arvill 7 (female), Clara B. 6, Frank F. 3, & Ida B. 2. There is a possibility that Ela is Rosco's wife, and that one or two of the younger children belong to them. However, this is just a possibility. Also, in 1880 Ida B. Robinson, age 12, is living with the Achorn family, with the identification "daughter," which raises the possibility that she may be Laura's daughter. This needs more research. | Robinson, Frank (I18464)

| In the 1870 Federal Census, George & Caroline Remington, ages 27 & 28, are living at Delmar, Tioga Co., PA, where George is a Baptist minister. They have a son, Virgil, 1 year old. In the 1880 Federal Census, George & Caroline are both age 38. The family is now living at Trout Creek, Tompkins, Delaware Co., NY. They have three children: L. Virgil 11 PA, William 9 PA, & Aron (Avon?) 3 NY. I have made an assumption that George Remington, the Baptist minister who married Caroline, is the same as George, son of William, and also that this is probably the same George W. Remington who was the 5th pastor of the Hancock Baptist Church, Hancock, Delaware Co., NY. Because of the names William & Virgil for his sons, and because of his age and state of birth, as well as location of pastorate, it is a reasonable assumption that he is the son of William & Caroline. In the 1900 Federal Census, George W. & Caroline Remington are living at Winchester, Litchfield Co., CT. His occupation is given as "Minister." According to census data, they have been married 34 years and have had four children. They are still in the same town in the 1910 census. | Remington, George W. (I20164)
| In the 1870 Federal Census, George P. & Triphena Howard, ages 20 & 16, are living at West Greenwich, RI, with George's (presumed) parents, Ephraim & Hannah W. Howard. They are next to John W. Howard and family on one side, and next to Searls & Susan D. Capwell and family on the other side. By the 1880 Federal Census, the family has moved to Coventry. The household consists of: George P. 30, Trifena H. 27, Hertillar B. 9 (dtr), Bivena W. 8 (dtr), George H. 6 (son), Mary E. 5 (dtr), Ephram 74 (father), & Francis W. 17 (nephew). They are living next door to Henry & Edna Shippee and family; Edna Shippee & Tryphena Howard are sisters. In the Federal Census of 1900, George is a widower age 51, living at Scituate, RI. With him are married son George H. and his wife Mary G., both aged 27. | Howard, George Parris (I02256)
| In the 1870 Federal Census, George W. & Caroline Humphrey are living at Tiverton, RI. Daughter Mary is with them, and son Peleg is next door with his family. Joseph Humphrey is also nearby, possibly another son. | Humphrey, George Washington (I18591)

Hannah's two (living) children, George H. 12 & Byron 10, are with her. Other individuals -- possibly relatives -- are also in the household. In the 1880 Federal Census, Hannah, age 43, is still living at Providence with her parents. Sons George H. & Byron A., ages 21 & 20, are with her. In the 1910 Federal Census, Hannah P. Remington is a widow age 72, living with her son George and his wife Lizzie in Pawtucket, RI. In 1920 she is still with them, age 83. | Hierlihy, Hannah Parish (I09920)

| In the 1870 Federal Census, he is Leonard W. Hall, age 2, living with Stephen H. & Angeline F. Kettle. Angeline's maiden name was Hall, so apparently Leonard was born before her marriage to Stephen on 18 Nov 1869. (Stephen Kettle: 12 May 1846 - 9 Jan 1938) In 1880 he is Leonard W. Kettle. In 1910 he is widowed, living with daughter Bertha in Morgan Mills, Johnston, RI, next door to brother-in-law George Whitford and family. | Kettell, Leonard W. (I19575)
| In the 1870 Federal Census, he is probably the Charles Remington, 18 NY, living at Franklin, Delaware Co., NY, a farm laborer living with the Sherwood and Chamberlin families. | Remington, Charles E. (I20232)
| In the 1870 Federal Census, he is probably the Edward Remington, age 35 NY, working as a farm laborer and living at Williamstown, Oswego Co., NY. He is living with the Viele family. | Remington, Edward B. (I11430)
| In the 1870 Federal Census, Henry & Theresa are living at Wirt, Allegany Co., NY. They have a daughter, Evangeline, age 1. Also in the household is Iona Woodard 16 NY, a domestic servant. They are living near other Wightman family members. In 1880 they are still at Wirt. There are 6 children in the household: Eva 11, Edward 9, Marcus(or Marion or Marvin) 7, Elizabeth 5, Addie 4, & Lulu 2. In the Federal Census of 1900, the family is still at Wirt: Henry, Theresa, Evangeline, Elizabeth S., Adalade A., Lulu T., Mabel, & Lavern A. | Wightman, Henry J. (I23472)
| In the 1870 Federal Census, Henry E. Remington is age 22, and is still living with his parents in Providence, RI. In the 1880 Federal Census, Henry E. Remingtion is age 32, boarding with his older sister Harriet A. Brightman and her family, in Providence, RI. His occupation is given as "job work." According to the RI Death Index, Henry E. Remington died at age 37. | Remington, Henry E. (I14690)
| In the 1870 Federal Census, Henry is age 14 and living with his family at Davenport, Iowa. In the 1880 Federal Census, Henry W. Remington age 24 is living in Chicago, working as a store clerk, and boarding with John & Emma Shields. His parents are living at Geneseo, IL. In 1920 Henry W. Remington age 64 is living in Bristol, RI, with his wife Anna B. age 60, In 1930 he is age 74 and in New Port Richey, Pasco County, FL, with his wife Agatha T. age 55. Could he have married first to Ida E. Newell, in 1877 (see RI Marriage Index)? Or, that may have been a different Henry W. Remington who married her. | Remington, Henry Wady (I09922)
| In the 1870 Federal Census, Henry Remington is 20 and living at home in Smithfield, RI, with his widowed father, Jefferson, and two sisters, Anna & Ellen. In 1880 Henry W. Remington is 30, divorced, and living in North Smithfield, RI, with his father Jeff and sister Anna W., 28. Could he have married Ida E. Newell in 1877, and been divorced by 1880? (see RI Marriage Index) In the 1920 Federal Census, Henry W. Remington & Emmaroy A. Remington are living in Manhattan, NY. He is 70 and she is 64. Two adult sons are in the home: Henry Waterman Remington, 34, and Harold J. Remington, 32. If the census data is correct, Henry was married sometime after the 1870 census, and divorced before the 1880 census. He may then have married someone born in NY before he married Emmaroy, because the 1920 census data shows that the mother of his two sons was born in NY. Therefore, Emmaroy may not be their mother. In 1930, Henry Remington is 80 years old, widowed, and still living in Manhattan, NY. With him are his two sons. Henry Jr. is married to Amy, and has three young daughters. Apparently he died not long after this census. | Remington, Henry Watterson Sr. (I05600)
| In the 1870 Federal Census, her name appears to be "Alfareth," while in 1880 it is written as "Alfarata." | Remington, Alfretta (I13345)

| In the 1870 Federal Census, his name is written as David or Daniel Remington (with a middle initial -- possibly H or G?). They are at Hackberry, Labette Co., KS. In 1870 they have two sons, Warren 4, and B. F. Butler 2. It is rather faint and difficult to read. In the 1880 Federal Census, the family is still at Hackberry. The name is unclear -- Dennis? David? Daniel? They have three sons: Warren 14, Butler 12, and Blucher 12. Jane Cassford, "mother," age 70 Canada, is with them. It appears that Jane could be the mother of Prudence, because Jane was born in Canada, and the birthplace of Prudence's mother is given as Canada in the census data. In both 1870 and 1880, Dennis's birthplace is given as VT. Prudence and all three boys were born in IL. Prudence and Dennis may have been cousins. Dennis H. Remington was listed as from Hampshire, IL, in the 8th Reg't Illinois during the Civil War. The 1860 Federal Census has a Dennis Remington of the correct age living at Oberlin, Ohio, but he is married to Matilda and has two children, Ida 2 and Azael (?) 4. This Matilda appears to be a single mother living at a boarding house in 1870. There is also a Matilda Remington of the same age, a housewife, listed at a lunatic asylum in Ohio. | Remington, Dennis H. (I22616)
