Allen Sr. works in a shingle mill, and Allen Jr. is a farmer. The online cemetery information says Allen was born in Onondaga Co., NY, and died in Allegany Co., NY. The 1820 Federal Census lists Arannah Wightman in Onondaga Co., NY. I believe this must be Allen's father, based on his birth location; this agrees with two online family trees (but needs more research to confirm). His name (Arannah or Aurunah) may be written as Aaron in two censuses; the 1830 census shows Aaron Wightman age 60 - 70 at Bolivar, Allegany Co., NY; the 1840 census shows A. Wightman age 70 - 80 at Wirt, Allegany Co., NY. In Wellsville, Allegany Co,, NY, there is a Wightman Road, off Rt. 417. Remington is a day laborer living with the family of Henry Fiske at Sturbridge, Worcester Co., MA. It is not clear whether his wife and children have all died, but they are not with him. From great-grandson Ed Moone: I want to add to the information on my great-grandfather, Rev. Benjamin Moon. In addition to him being a Baptist Minister, he was also a mill owner. Moon Mill was located in Washington Village on Main Street in a location now occupied by a convenience store. The mill produced cotton twine most notably used for carpet warp. The mill was destroyed by fire in the early 1900's. I'd like to quote from a book that I have regarding my great-grandfather. The book is "A History of Greene and Vicinity" by Squire G. Wood, privately printed in Providence in 1936. He writes with reference to Sharp Street Church "Rev. Benjamin Moon, who lived at Washington, a mill owner, and considered well off for those days, came to us on the third Sunday for many years. He was a good man and a good preacher, although pretty lengthy sometimes." (See, it comes to me honest, I get it from my great-grandfather, lol) Rev. (unclear) 13 IL; Charles 10 IA; William 5 IA. In the Federal Census of 1900, John M. & Dora Wilson are ages 72 & 61, living at Pittsford, Butler Co., IA. John was born June 1827 Germany, and Dora was born July 1838 Germany. William and Chris W. Wilson and their families are listed on the same page, so they are probably sons of John & Dora, as listed in 1880. According to the census data, they have been married 40 years and have 6 children, all of them still living. John immigrated in 1857 and Dora immigrated in 1860. John is a landlord.
