| Peirce, David, s. David Esq. of Somerset and Elizabeth, Feb. 14, 1766, G.R.1. (New Bedford VR) | Peirce, David (I05745)
| Peleg & Waite were married by Joseph Harris, Justice. A copy of the official marriage record is among the papers in the Mary E. Rice Collection. I have estimated the birth years of some of the children. Russell is not found in most of the genealogies, but is in a family Bible record. Also, it is said that Charles had a twin named Deborah -- she must have died in infancy. I have no further information on either Russell or Deborah. | Family F01707
| Peleg and his first wife Ruth moved from Cheshire, MA, to Shaftsbury, VT, around 1779. About 1801 they moved to Addison Co., VT | Whitford, Peleg (I01261)
| Peleg C. Remington and his brother Peter B. were mill operators in Scituate, RI, from about 1814/15 and following. The mill manufactured cotton yarn. The 1830 Federal Census lists Peleg C. Remington and family living at Scituate, Providence Co., RI. In the Federal Census of 1850, the family is at Providence, Ward 6, RI: Peleg C. 61, Delany 57, Esther B. 27, Delaney B. 23, Irene G. 21, & Mariah C. 16 (all b RI except Esther b MA). Peleg is a machinist. In the 1860 Federal Census, Peleg C. & Delaney B. Remington are ages 71 & 66, living in Ward 6, Providence, RI. With them are Ester B., 36, and Irena J., 26. Next door are George & Delaney (Remington) Randall and family. In the 1870 Federal Census, Peleg is age 82, Delanie is age 77, and Esther is age 46. They are still living at Providence, RI. There is a large monument in the Pawtuxet Cemetery which has Peleg's name and dates on it. There is also a masonic symbol on it. This monument has been photographed. | Remington, Colonel Peleg C. (I01957)

| Peleg went with his cousin John Briggs to "New Jerusalem" at Yates County, NY, in 1788. In 1783 he was "of Exeter" (RI). | Briggs, Peleg (I10367)
| Peleg's first name came to me from a genealogy of the Sawdey family at NewEnglandancestors.org | Sawdey, Peleg (I22427)
| Peleg's will mentions his wife Anne, and children Job, Peleg, Richard, Priscillla, Sarah (Rogers), Mary (Smith), Anne (Rogers), & Mehitable (Thurston), also daughter-in-law Sarah Tripp and kinsman William Sanford, overseer. | Tripp, Peleg Sr. (I01496)

| Penelope was a daughter of James Andrews of Scituate. | Andrews, Penelope (I16672)
| Penelope's parents moved to Norfolk, CT, in 1759. Her stepmother Hannah Remington was reportedly from Suffield. (source: History of the Simon Mills Family, by Katie Mills, p. 59) In the 1810 census Penelope appears to be a widow, listed as head of household in Brutus, Cayuga Co., NY. She is listed next to son-in-law Samuel Olds and near son Martin Remington. Also in the same town is David Remington, probably the nephew of Jabez. Penelope's household is as follows: 1 FWM 10-15, 1 FWM 16-25, 1 FWM 26-44, 1 FWF 10-15, 1 FWF 16-25, and 1 FWF 45+. Penelope died of consumption at age 59. (sources: Representative Men and families of Southeastern MA, Vol 3 p 1472 & 1472; A Sketch of the History of Attleborough, p 516; other books at Google Books) The will of Pentecost Blackinton, yeoman, of Attleboro, was dated 23 Sep 1715, and probated 1 Nov 1715. It mentions but does not name his wife; mentions sons Benjamin (eldest) and Pentecost, and daughter Elizabeth; mentions but does not name "all my other children." (source: Abstracts of Bristol County, Massachusetts Probate Records, 1687-1745 By H. L. Peter Rounds, p 68; Google Books) | Blackington, Pentecost (I24709)

| Perhaps he was the Robert Metcalf who was married and living in Flint, MI, in 1920. | Metcalf, Robert N. (I12900)
| Perhaps Henry's middle name is Adams. His mother may have died in childbirth or shortly after Henry's birth -- but this is just speculation because I do not know Henry's exact date of birth. Henry A. Remington who married Sally W. Reynolds was identified as "son of William." I am making an assumption that he is Henry A. Remington, son of this particular William Remington. Their birth dates seem about right for this marriage (see their ages at death, in the RI Death Index). Henry A. is mentioned as a son in the 1852 will of William Remington. His death record at Providence also identifies him as "son of William." | Remington, Henry A. (I10652)

| Peter B. Remington and his brother Peleg were mill operators in Scituate, RI from about 1814/15. The mill manufactured cotton yarn. I have made an assumption that his middle intial B stands for Burlingame, and that he was named after his maternal grandfather. | Remington, Colonel Peter Burlingame (I01662)
| Peter moved westward and first settled in New Castle, Ohio. "He taught one term of school, and had mathematical ability" (source: Remington manuscript). I have discovered what I believe to be his family in the 1850 census, so I am placing them here based on my assumption and data from various censuses which supports this assumption. See notes for Susanna. Further research has confirmed that this indeed is Peter's family, based on DAR membership #750866. | Remington, Peter Gardner (I04208)
