George White married my grandmother's sister Eliza Coleman and they moved to California, where Eliza died. When he moved back to RI, he wanted to marry my widowed grandmother, but her daughters all told her not to marry him. I do believe she paid for his gravestone, though, because I have seen the receipt for it.

In the 1920 Federal Census, George H. & Eliza White are living at 820 Redondo Ave., Long Beach, Los Angeles Co., CA. George's father, Alfred, aged 87, is living with them. According to the census data, George immigrated around 1869. They are still in Long Beach in 1930, although George's father is no longer with them. This census says George immigrated around 1868. Also, it indicates that his first marriage was at age 25.
His gravestone has the inscription "Asleep in Jesus."
