    • In the 1860 Census, Gideon is age 38, and living at Tiverton, RI, with his wife Susan and children Sophy 6, Otis 3, and Matteson 18 (possibly from a first marriage, or a nephew?). In 1880 the family is still at Tiverton, living next door to brother John B. Manchester. Another child, Harriet age 6, is in the household. She is either a daughter or another relative.

      Susan may be his second wife (needs more research).
