Notes - For many years Jerome was a farmer and a carpenter. For a while starting in 1856 he was also a wagon maker, and around 1890 he became a merchant.
In the 1870 Federal Census, Jerome & Mary are living at Independence, Allegany Co., NY, with their daughters Cora, Fanny, & Lenie. In 1880 they are at Foster, MacKean Co., PA, with children Fannie, Lena, & Chas.
