  The DAR lineage book has John's wife as Harriet Paine. In the 1830 census, Sarah Remington is listed as a head of houshold in Johnston, next to brother-in-law Caleb Remington Jr. Her household is as follows: 1 male 10-15 (John P.), 1 male 20-30 (Caleb B. or William W.), 1 female 10-15 (Waity), and 1 female 50-60 (Sarah).
