  Probably Joanna's husband was of the Tanner family of Rhode Island, as was Esther Tanner, who married John Wellwood. John & Esther's son James married Sally, Joanna's sister. See notes for James A. Wellwood and Esther Tanner, elsewhere on this family tree. I am wondering if Joanna was widowed young, or divorced. She appears to be the Joanna Remington in the 1850 census, age 40, living with James & Sally Wellwood and family at Oswego, NY. If so, Sally is Joanna's sister. Joanna's age is off about 8 years -- not uncommon for a woman's age in the census. (Joanna needs more research.)
