In the household with them are their five oldest children, and two women: Huldah Remington, 45, and Mary Remington, 47. These are probably sisters of Philetus. In the 1870 Federal Census, Philetus & Betsey are living at Clay Center, Clay Co., KS. In the household are Howard, Henry, & Emily. They are next door to Mary, age 67, and Hulda, age 65.
