- In the 1860 Federal Census, John T. Brightman & Harriet A. Brightman are ages 40 & 30, living in Cranston, RI. They have two young children: Emily A., 2, and John H. A., 1.
In 1870 the family is living in Ward 9, Providence, RI. John P. Brightman is 50 and Harriet A. Brightman is 40. Only their son, John H., age 11, is with them.
In 1880 the family is living in District 53, Providence, RI. John T. Brightman is 58 and Harriet A. Brightman is 48 (someone has deducted two years from their age). Their son, John H. A., age 21, is with them. Also, four other individuals are in their household: Cora S. Davis, 8, niece, b. MA; Ferdinand F. Remington, 13, boarder, b. RI (he is Harriet's nephew, s/o Albert); Henry E. Remington, 32, boarder, b. RI (he is Harriet's younger brother); and Thomas A. Dailey, 23, b. CT, boarder.
