- Anna (Knapp) Hatch wrote about her family "on 11 May 1872: 'I was born in Exeter, RI. My father's name was Daniel Knapp of Providence RI. My mother's name was Mary Rathburn daughter of Simeon & Anna (Russell) Rathburn of Exeter, RI. I was born 12 May 1800. When I was 4 years old I was taken by my father and mother to Oxford, Chenango Co, NY. When I was 16 years old I experienced religion and joined the Baptist Church at Oxford. When I was 22 years old I married C. C. Hatch of Oxford. He was a professor of religion and belonged to the same church. We lived in the bonds of unity. In 1826 we moved to Ischua, Cattaragus Co, NY. We lived there till we had 11 children - lost one little son. Raised 10 to manhood and womanhood - 5 sons and 5 daughters, everyone members of the Baptist Church and one a Baptist preacher, our son George. 6 Aug 1867 my husband died of the hurt of falling from a ladder, living only 15 hours. I am still living and am 72 years old tomorrow. ' " (source: Guy/Sam Wallis's family tree at Rootsweb's Worldconnect)
