    • In the Federal Census of 1860, James Remington is age 20, living at Elbridge, Onondaga Co., NY, with the family of Abraham Pickard -- possibly his uncle. James is a farm laborer.

      In the Federal Census of 1870, James age 30 NY is married to Lydia age 30 NY. They are living at Elbridge, Onondaga Co., NY. Also listed in the household is Sarah A. Remington 35 NY. I am wondering if the age is a mistake, and if Sarah is their daughter (?) age 5 or so.

      In the Federal Census of 1880, James 40 NY and Lydia 37 NY are still at Elbridge, NY. With them is daughter Anna Remington 16 NY. Anna was not listed as Anna in the previous census, so she may be adopted, or she may be Sarah A. who was listed in 1870. This needs more research.

      In the Federal Census of 1900, James 60 & "Liddy" 61 are still at Elbridge, NY. According to census data, they have been married 40 years; Lydia has had three children, one of whom is still living.
